How Much Does It Cost to Rent a Skid Steer in Ontario?

What a skid steer or compact track loader rental costs in Ontario by the day, weekend, week and month, what drives the price, and our published Kubota.

By Titanium Equipment Group · Georgina, Ontario · Updated September 28, 2026

Skid steer rental pricing in Ontario is all over the map because most companies quote by phone and add delivery, damage waivers and attachments afterward. Here is what it actually costs, what changes the number, and our own rates so you have a real comparison.

Our rate for a compact track loader

Our Kubota SVL75-3 is a compact track loader, which is a skid steer on rubber tracks. It rents for $350 a day, $600 for a weekend (Friday to Monday), $1,250 for a week and $3,500 for a month, delivered anywhere in Georgina, York Region, Durham Region and Kawartha Lakes with delivery quoted up front by postal code.

What moves the price up or down

Tracks versus wheels: tracked machines cost more to rent than wheeled skid steers because the undercarriage is expensive to maintain, but in this area tracks are worth it. Wheeled machines rut lawns and get stuck in the spring clay that covers most of Georgina and Brock. Size: a 75 horsepower class machine like ours lifts and pushes far more than the 40 to 50 horsepower units the big box stores rent, so a job that takes a weekend with a small machine takes a day with ours. Attachments: buckets are included; augers, forks, grapples, pushers and brush cutters are quoted per rental. Delivery: this is the number that catches people. A branch in Vaughan or Barrie charges for the round trip from their yard; we are already in Georgina. Operator: an operated rental adds an hourly operator charge and is the right call for precise grading or a first-time user. Damage waiver: optional, a small daily fee, and worth it for most homeowners.

Weekend versus week

A weekend at $600 gives you Friday afternoon through Monday morning, which is three working days for less than two daily rates. A week at $1,250 is the same per day as a weekend but with five extra days, which is why contractors and anyone doing a driveway plus a grading job take the week.

Is a skid steer the right machine for your job?

It is the right machine for moving material across the surface: grading, spreading gravel and topsoil, clearing brush, demolition, snow, moving pallets. If you need to dig down, you want an excavator instead, and our skid steer versus mini excavator guide walks through it. Our full rate table for every machine is in the equipment rental rates post.
